CC - Gilmour

This was a project for my Desktop Vector Design class at college. For the project, we had to take an image of someone, and retrace it using Illustrator. Afterwards we had to use gradients, meshes, and other various tools to get close to the original image. Afterwards, we had to make it look like a card from a deck of cards (hence the CC standing for Character Cards).

This was actually pretty fun ^_^ This one is Gilmour from my fav band, Pink Floyd. Somehow I managed to make this one in 1 day and its my best when it comes to the face. I used 5-6 different shades for the face and hands. That way I didn't see the need to use blending and meshing (which takes forever to do). I also wanted to keep the image in a grey scale look because I wanted to emphesise DSOTM in the background.

The only thing that bothers me about this is the lack of detail with the shirt and guitar. not only was I running out of time, but the image I was working with was in grey scale and most of the image was faded in the background so I had to take a lot of guesses.

All in all, I love the end result and I would like to make more like this
