Description
45 Hours spanning nearly 3 months, finally finished one of the most difficult charcoal drawings I have tackled yet!
Firstly, I want to thank LinkyQ for giving me permission to draw the absolutely gorgeous photograph Winterish that inspired me to draw after an 8 month hiatus.
I wanted to see whether or not I could draw a realistic, highly detailed charcoal portrait. Started off very well, but once I hit the knitted scarf and sweater, things got a bit out of hand... Not 100% happy with the results there; however, considering it was my first attempt at it, I am pleased with the overall result.
Details:
18x24 80lb paper
Generals' Charcoal Pencils
Various erasers & blending stumps
Detailed step-by-step WIP can be viewed here
